You collect coloured train cards and spend them to claim railway routes across a map, chasing secret destinations that other people keep blocking without knowing it. A fantastic beginning to your board game journey. Anyone who has never played a board game before is hooked by the second round. We have the original, the 1910 expansion, Europe, the Nordic Countries and London, and each map plays its own way, so it never quite goes stale. We used to play it a LOT when we first got it. These days, we prefer other games to spend our time and wits on. There are a plethora of expansions. If you like the base game, worth getting a few for the different variations on the theme.
