Sri Symphonic Bhajans

Khurshed Batliwala | B. Prasanna

Ever wondered how bhajans would sound with a full western classical orchestra behind them?

I was playing a bhajan on the piano we keep in Vishalakshi Mantap, lost in it, oblivious to everything around me. Gurudev had finished teaching a class in one of the halls and come to stand beside me while I played. He kept everyone with Him silent.

You should make a CD like this.

I spoke to Prasanna, a brilliant composer, and we set about making a western classical take on some of Art of Living's most loved bhajans. I knew exactly how I wanted them to sound, and Prasanna understood every bit of it, almost pulling the music straight out of my head. Gowrishankar played a big part in bringing this music to life.
